The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is proud to recognize Sava Dlawar Qubad, a senior Civil Engineering student and President of the AUIS SPE Student Chapter, for representing both the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and AUIS at the 2025 SPE University Student Experience @GOTECH, held from April 21 to 23, 2025, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This prestigious program, organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and sponsored by Dragon Oil, was held in conjunction with the highly regarded Gulf Intelligence GOTECH Conference at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

AUIS Hosts Model UN Training and Simulation Conference on Global Security

The AUIS Model UN Club, in collaboration with the Law Department, successfully hosted a Model United Nations Training and Simulation Conference on campus, bringing together students for a day of diplomatic debate and hands-on learning. 
The conference centered on the critical topic: "The Role of the International Community in Preventing the Resurgence of ISIS." Participants stepped into the roles of UN delegates, engaging in structured debate, negotiation, and resolution drafting to explore how global cooperation can address one of the region’s most pressing security concerns.

AUIS Launches Capacity Building Program to Strengthen Professional Skills Among Faculty and Staff

As part of its continued commitment to supporting professional growth, the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is pleased to announce the launch of its Capacity Building Program, an HR-led initiative designed to enhance key competencies among faculty and staff.
The inaugural session, titled “Effective Communication Skills in the Academic Environment,” took place on Monday, May 26. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Rauf Mahmood, a well-respected expert in communication and a dedicated advocate for higher education.
