Master of Business Administration
The Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is a one-of-a-kind program for professionals and recent graduates looking to strengthen their business skills and improve their career opportunities. This an American-style graduate studies program in Business that offers a professional degree in 20 months. The MBA curriculum is taught by faculty members with international education and experience, who are committed to excellence in their professions.
Our MBA program allows students to customize their own experience. AUIS program offers rigor and flexibility, with a foundation of broad management skills in the core and an array of electives and specializations to help develop one or more areas of expertise. AUIS students build a strong foundation in every key business discipline as well as deeper expertise in areas critical to their success. In addition to the general MBA, students can now pursue an MBA with specializations in Leadership, Project Management, Finance, HR and Marketing.
The AUIS MBA has also been through a recent restructuring to meet the needs of working professionals seeking to expand their knowledge in their businesses and professional field.
The MBA program offers flexible evening and weekend classes so that students with demanding professional careers can still learn advanced business management and leadership skills. Each of the program’s 17 courses is taught over the course of a month, for a total of five days, distributed over two weekends: Thursday/Friday/Saturday and Friday/Saturday. In such a way working professionals can study with minimum disruption to their existing careers.

MBA programs are typically designed to introduce students to the various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, operations management, etc. This program originated in the USA, emerging from the late 19th century as the country industrialized and companies sought our scientific approaches to management. Nowadays MBA degrees attract people from a wide range of academic disciplines.

Admissions Process:
Admission of students begins in June and happens on a rolling base. Therefore, applications are processed as soon as they are received in the Admissions office. Students are encouraged to send in their documents as early as possible since space is limited. Students will start their studies in October.
To be considered for full admission into the MBA program, the following requirements must be met:
- Completed MBA application form
- Paid 150,000 IQD application fee
- Earned Baccalaureate degree from a recognized university
- Official (original) transcripts from all institutions attended (BA diploma and high school diploma)
- Most current CV
- Motivational letter of max 700 words listing reasons for interest in the program
- Relevant work experience – min 2 years
- Official English language score reports – iBT TOEFL (72) or IELTS (Band 6.5)*
* AUIS graduates are exempt from the English placement test requirement. Check with the AUIS Admissions office regarding other conditions.

After submitting application and all the supporting documents as well as paying the application fee, qualified applicants will be invited for the interview with the AUIS MBA Admissions Committee which will evaluate the applicant’s professional background, leadership experience, and potential for success.
Once the applicant receives the letter of Acceptance into the program, the next step will be to sign the enrollment contract and pay the first course tuition of 1,900,000 IQD.
