Michael is a teacher who has been living in Iraq for five years, first in Erbil, then in Baghdad and now at AUIS.  He has a master’s in Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a second master’s in Development Education at University College London. He has also recently completed a postgraduate certificate in applied linguistics from the University of Birmingham.
 
He has extensive teaching experience within international schools and universities in the Middle East and is also currently planning a Ph.D. in the field. His research focuses on Education, International Development and Global Citizenship, particularly how education is positioned in the peacebuilding process in Iraq.
