AUIS College of Pharmacy Earns ACPE International Pre-Accreditation: A Milestone in Global Academic Excellence
The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is proud to announce that its College of Pharmacy has achieved International Pre-Accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), a globally recognized authority in pharmacy education. This significant milestone affirms the program’s alignment with international standards of quality and excellence in pharmaceutical education and marks an important advancement for pharmacy education in Iraq.
Based in the United States, ACPE is responsible for accrediting professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of continuing pharmacy education. Through its International Services Program, ACPE evaluates pharmacy programs outside the United States against established quality criteria that focus on curriculum design, faculty qualifications, student learning outcomes, governance, resources, and continuous quality improvement.
International Pre-Accreditation indicates that the AUIS Bachelor of Pharmacy program has met the foundational requirements and standards set by ACPE and is progressing within the accreditation process. The recognition highlights the College’s commitment to implementing global best practices in teaching, experiential learning, assessment, and academic governance.
This achievement reflects AUIS’s dedication to preparing the next generation of pharmacists to lead, innovate, and strengthen healthcare systems in Iraq and beyond. By integrating scientific rigor, practical training, ethical responsibility, and patient-centered care into its curriculum, the College of Pharmacy equips graduates with the competencies required to serve in clinical, industrial, research, and community healthcare settings.
Earning ACPE International Pre-Accreditation is a testament to the collective efforts of faculty, staff, students, and university leadership. It reinforces AUIS’s strategic vision of advancing academic excellence, expanding international engagement, and ensuring that its graduates are competitive and confident in an increasingly globalized healthcare environment.
