PDI Launches New Min-Masters in Corporate Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Partnership with Maastricht University

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) held a launch event on November 14, 2023 for its new Mini-Masters Program in Corporate Innovation & Entrepreneurship, in partnership with Maastricht University in the Netherlands. The event announced the program for the first time to key B2B clients. The program was then formally announced across PDI and AUIS social media channels and registration was opened on November 15, 2022.    The event, held in Sulaimani, hosted representatives from companies, businesses, and NGOs of all sizes and industries across the country. The agenda included a welcome speech presenting the purpose of the partnership between Maastricht University and AUIS for delivering this unique  program, and introducing the program’s content and curriculum. AUIS Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (AEIC) Director Dr. Hemn Latif and Dr. Randi Rahbar of the Business Administration Department delivered remarks about the role and importance of innovation and entrepreneurship for business growth. AUIS staff members participate in PDI Business English course

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, PDI delivered a tailored Business English course to AUIS employees June 19 - 30, 2022, at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani.   The program provided students with instruction on how to confidently communicate better in English, in real-world business situations. Students also learned advanced listening skills, how to speak more fluently, and use clearer and higher-level vocabulary, in addition to how to write successful target-specific reports or proposals that meet specific requirements and get intended responses. PDI delivers Business English course to iQ Company employees in Sulaimani

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, PDI delivered a tailored English Language with Business Component course to employees from iQ Company from April 10 to May 15, 2022, at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani.   Delivered by PDI Instructor Samuel Clayton, the program provided a comprehensive training, covering both academic and practical topics in English language learning. PDI Conducts Project Management Professional (PMP)® Training Course for REACH Organization in Sulaimani

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) delivered a tailored one-week Project Management Professional (PMP) training course for employees of REACH Organization in Sulaimani. The course took place at AUIS from March 13 – 17, 2022.    Taught by PDI Instructor Ahmed Al-Allo, the program provided both academic and practical knowledge on project management skills. The course’s stated learning objectives included explaining the elements of PMP and their impact on organizational effectiveness and success; in addition to outlining the key tools and practices relating to Project Management in organizations/businesses and essential project management knowledge areas. PDI Delivers Webinar on Managing Successful Events featuring Linda Nilsson-Aro

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) delivered a  a webinar titled “How to Manage a Successful Event: A Webinar by Linda Nilsson-Aro” on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 to participants from the private sector, local organizations, and the public.    Ms. Nilsson-Aro is head of international sales at Liveto, an event sales platform based in Finland. She spoke to the online audience about fundamentals of successful event management and explained how the story behind an event can affect its success. PDI Offers Private English Classes for Tasluja Cement Employees in Sulaimani

PDI Delivers Mini-MBA Program for Private Sector Companies and Individuals in Sulaimani

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) delivered a two-week Mini-MBA course for private sector companies and individuals November 14-28, 2021. The program consisted of five main modules: Human Resources, Leadership, Sales & Marketing, Financial Management, and Project Management.     The course aimed to explain the philosophy and elements of Human Resources Management (HRM) and its impact on company effectiveness and success; communicate the key concepts, theories, and practices of Leadership in organizations/businesses; and identify the differences between management and leadership, as well as different leadership styles.    Participating students were provided with information about essential marketing concepts and tools and their application in organizations, as well as the steps of the professional selling process. They also learned strategic selling techniques to increase sales. Subsequent modules covered how to apply financial concepts in managerial decisions and how to perform financial analysis; acquiring knowledge and techniques for managing projects successfully; and gaining experience in using project management techniques that can be applied to real-life projects. PDI Conducts Public Relations Workshop for Private Sector Companies and Individuals in Sulaimani

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) delivered a one-day workshop on October 6, 2021 the role of public relations in organizations and developing effective PR plans for private- and public-sector businesses in Sulaimani. The workshop was delivered by AUIS Director of Communications, Ms. Delawit Mesfin.   Attendees received a comprehensive, yet condensed overview of the foundations of PR from both an academic and practical perspective, in addition to essential tools to create effective PR plans. PDI Delivers Sales Workshop for Private-Sector Companies in Sulaimani

  As part of its continuous efforts to support professional capacity development in the region, the Professional Development Institute (PDI) at AUIS delivered a one-day sales workshop for professionals from a group of private-sector companies in Sulaimani on June 30, 2021. The workshop was taught by Dr. Ranj Hussein.   Participating companies included Qaiwan Group, Halabja Group, Alsard Fiber, Bestun Group, Moonline Travel and Trade, Jazeera Paints, and Network Marketing. The program began with welcome remarks and a presentation by PDI Business Development Manager Rawand Abas and Coordinator Hanar Hemn, followed by the workshop titled "The Selling Process" and a Q&A session.    The workshop provided a comprehensive, both academic and practical, overview of essential skills and techniques for effective sales. More precisely, the workshop focused on Sales Prospecting as a critical part of a successful sales process. Participants found the workshop highly useful as well as very practical. PDI conducts organizational development workshops for Mercy Corps

  The Professional Development Institute (PDI) at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) facilitated two organizational development workshops in financial management and human resources (HR) for Mercy Corps´s INNOVATE program in Sulaimani. The workshops took place on June 17 – 20, 2019 (Financial Management) and June 26 – 27, 2019 (HR) and were taught by Mr. Soran Sadiq and Ms. Rava Khorshid. The objective of the workshops was to build the sustainability of Mercy Corps’ local partners through capacity building. The INNOVATE program is itself implemented through a partnership with local NGOs.   The PDI workshops were part of the INNOVATE project initiated by Mercy Corps to reduce the vulnerability of conflict-affected youth through increased livelihood outcomes utilizing an approach that fosters psychosocial wellbeing. The workshops provided a comprehensive view of financial management and HR principles and strategies as well as an introduction to different tools for managing their processes. The program also focused on understanding long-term thinking in financial management and HR as well as techniques for developing various policies, procedures and guidelines within both fields.
