The workshop was offered to three separate groups over three weeks. Over the course of each week, five different business fields were covered by distinguished AUIS professors. The topics included telecom technology and management, sales and marketing, finance, leadership and management, and lastly, strategy and business environment. The workshop was conducted exclusively for 44 senior employees and managers from Asiacell, and through highly interactive sessions and exercises with the participants. The workshop aimed at further advancing the participants' professional and management skills.
“It was a great pleasure to organize and deliver for the second time in the past 12 months a Mini MBA program for over 40 Asiacell employees. The curriculum was designed in collaboration with Asiacell and it was expertly delivered by 4 different AUIS professors” said Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, PDI Director and one of the instructors of the program, “the feedback from participants and instructors was excellent. We are very pleased to have contributed to the skills enhancement of such a fantastic group of professionals.”
Dr. Firend Rasch, another instructor of this workshop, added to this by saying “This course brought together employees of various departments [of Asiacell] to assess and evaluate their organizations and benchmark it against the latest theories and managerial concepts. Brainstorming solutions allowed attendees to see the full picture, have a better understanding of future potentials and possibilities, and better understand trends in their industry.”
Participants expressed their desire to see a continuation of such partnership in the future. “The training course, including the topics presented and discussed, will enhance my information which will serve my work progress and achievements.” Commented Mr. Ranj Jamal, Training & Development Expert at Asiacell and one of the participants of the workshop, “In addition, the subjects delivered by AUIS" respectful instructors helped in developing our management, finance & marketing knowledge and make them comply with international standards”.
PDI has frequently worked with private companies, NGOs, and the public sector in the past to deliver highly customized trainings and consulting services to support them in building skills and knowledge in specific areas to achieve their goals. In August, in partnership with World Food Program (WFP), PDI offered a Skills Development Pilot Program for Syrian refugees who currently reside in Kurdistan Region. Last year, PDI had offered another Mini-MBA workshop to Asiacell staff as well, and also, in June 2016, PDI delivered a Crisis and Strategic Management training in Sulaimani to senior employees of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Education.
