AUIS Members Participate in the World Disability and Rehabilitation Conference

On Thursday, November 9, 2023, four members of AUIS participated via Zoom in the Eighth World Disability and Rehabilitation Conference held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ms. Zimkitha Mpatheni, Director of APP, Ms. Shanya Salar, a student of International Studies, and Ms. Sanaria Kamal, a student majoring in English Literature, presented 'Introducing Accessible Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government: A Case Study of the American University of Iraq Sulaimani’s First Phase for Academic Accommodations.' This presentation was based on their research over the past several months. Later in the day, Dr. Lynn Rose, Professor in the Social Sciences, who serves on the executive committee for the World Disability and Rehabilitation Professional Association, participated in the conference’s international panel discussion, 'Global Empowerment through Collaboration and Exchange: Advancing Disability Rehabilitation Worldwide.
