Sugarman is a Fellow within Schmidt Futures Talent Ventures focusing on Internet policy, content moderation, and related issues. He was previously Content Director, Oversight Board Administration for Facebook and Instagram. His past experiences include positions as Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State; Director, Cyber Initiative at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation; and Co-Founder/Co-Director of the Afghanistan Legal Education Project.
He earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in International Relations from Middlebury College.
