Dr. Hayfa Jafar is the Director of the Institutional Effectiveness at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. Previously, she worked as an Institutional Research Analyst at Centennial College in Ontario, Canada. She is an experienced analyst, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Hayfa has led many projects related to student retention, graduate outcomes, student social and academic experiences on campus, international student diversity, and market share at Ontario colleges.
She has a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, a master’s degree in Statistics from Al Mustansiriya University in Iraq, and another master's degree in Quality Management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Her Ph.D. thesis examines the rationales for adopting internationalization of higher education and establishing imported universities in post-2003 Iraq. Her research interests touch on the internationalization of higher education focusing on international student mobility, international graduate outcomes, and the impact of internationalization on academics.
