AUIS was the first private university in the Kurdistan Region to receive such accreditation from the federal government and had worked for several years to meet the Ministry’s accreditation standards.
The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) has granted the University’s Academic Preparatory Program (APP) a second ten-year accreditation through April 2030. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accrediting agency for English language programs and institutions in the U.S. Moreover, AUIS has a dual degree program with the University of Arizona, which is ranked 52 in the world. Through the dual degree program, students will receive ABET accredited degrees in Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
