Kamaran Ahmed

Kamran Ahmed held the position of Minister of Construction and Housing in the Kurdistan Regional Government for four years, then retired in June 2014. Before joining the government, Mr. Ahmed had a successful career as an engineer in the private sector, first as a site engineer for various private companies in the region and then as the founder of an engineering office for the design and supervision of the private sector projects.

During this time, working on establishing a computer training center, he also worked with Kurdistan Save the Children and various other projects. In 2003, Mr. Ahmed began working with Sulaymaniyah International Airport as the head of the supervisory construction board, then as a consultant for Civil Aviation Authority, and finally as the general manager of Sulaymaniyah International Airport from 2006 to the end of 2009 until his assignment as Minister of Construction. Mr. Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Civil Engineering at the University of Sulaymaniyah.
