Ahmed Dawood is a seasoned legal professional and the Founder and Managing Partner of Bayt Al-Hikmah Legal Services and Consultancy (BHC), operating in Iraq and the United States. At BHC, he spearheads the Corporate, Commercial, and Intellectual Property practices, offering clients expert guidance on Iraqi law, public-private partnerships, and regulatory compliance.


With over 26 years of experience, Mr. Dawood has held pivotal roles in both the public and private sectors. He served as Senior Iraqi Legal Advisor for BAE Systems, overseeing compliance and licensing operations in Iraq. As a Senior Manager and Iraqi Attorney at Grant Thornton LLP, he supported governance reforms and advised public sector clients across the MENA region. His contributions extend to serving as Chief of Staff to Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister, where he played a key role in economic policymaking and strategic initiatives, as well as Legal Advisor to Iraq’s Minister of Planning, contributing to national economic planning and regulatory reform.


Beyond his governmental roles, Mr. Dawood has been instrumental in shaping Iraq’s legal infrastructure, collaborating with organizations like the World Bank and the U.S. Department of Commerce on public procurement and investment promotion initiatives. His academic credentials include a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law.
