The American University of Sulaimani (AUIS) is proud to announce that Dr. Ramazan Uctu, faculty member in the Business Administration Department, has published a research paper in the International Journal of Innovation Studies, a highly ranked academic journal (CiteScore: 9.2, Impact Factor: 5.3, Q1 level).

The paper, titled “The Impact of Innovation on Economic Growth: A Dynamic Panel Data Analysis Using System GMM Approach”, explores how innovation contributes to economic performance across 22 economies from 2009 to 2021. Using advanced econometric methods, including the two-stage least squares (2SLS) and System GMM estimators, the study analyzes the effects of factors such as education, research and development (R&D) spending, trade freedom, and entrepreneurship on economic growth.

Findings from the research reveal that mean years of education, R&D expenditures, and trade freedom have positive impacts on economic growth, while early-stage entrepreneurship shows a statistically significant negative effect.

This publication marks a significant contribution to global discussions on innovation and development economics, underscoring the growing research output and academic excellence of AUIS faculty.
