Profile
Mr. Sarmad Latif is a senior researcher specializing in water security, climate resilience, environmental governance, and sustainable development. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources and Environment, and a first-class Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. He has authored more than 50 scientific publications and two books, and serves as an Editor for Discover Sustainability (Springer Nature) and Topic Associate Editor for World Water Policy (Wiley). He has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the field of Environmental Sciences based on the Stanford University and Elsevier global ranking of researchers. His work supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with current research focusing on water policy and governance, integrated water resources management, climate adaptation, and sustainable environmental decision-making. Through his research and collaborations with governmental agencies, academic institutions, and private organizations, he aims to bridge science and policy to develop evidence-based solutions for regional and global challenges related to water security, climate resilience, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
