International Contract Management
This Course provides a review of international contract management as an area of theoretical development as well as field of practice in Kurdistan and in Iraq. It comprises of the study of the problem areas of globalization, world economy, and modern approaches to business organization in the global context. Main blocks of the course are trends and drivers of globalization, political, economic and legal environments of international business, business ethics and corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, the challenges in Iraq and Kurdistan region are discussed in a global environment.
Teaching Objectives
The main objective of the course is to present modern concepts of international contract management to the students and help them to develop skills in analysis of global business both in terms of its internal functioning and interaction with the different types of environment. Students will also understand the unique challenges in the Iraqi and Kurdistan marketplaces and discuss strategies to overcome these. The purpose is to acquaint students with principles of international contract management and to demonstrate the use of management tools and international best practices.
Teaching Methods
The following methods and forms of study are used in the course:
- Lectures (six separate lectures over one week period)
- Written home assignments (four assignments over the course of one week)
- Self study
