AUIS College of Pharmacy Hosts Seminar on AI in Drug Development

The AUIS College of Pharmacy recently hosted a seminar on AI in Drug Development, presented by Dr. Nechirwan Taimur, an esteemed adjunct faculty member specializing in pharmaceutical analysis and drug development.

Dr. Taimur discussed the challenges of traditional drug discovery, a process that can take up to 15 years and require billions of dollars in investment. He highlighted how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the field by accelerating research, streamlining drug discovery, and improving cost-effectiveness—particularly in the search for new anticancer and antimicrobial treatments.

The seminar provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the drug development process and AI’s growing role in pharmaceutical sciences. Participants gained valuable insights into how AI-driven innovations are making drug discovery more efficient and accessible.

This event reflects the AUIS College of Pharmacy’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering discussions on cutting-edge technologies in healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences.
