The College of Dentistry at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Dental Clinic Accountant. 

Position Description:

The Dental Clinic Accountant is responsible for patient payments, financial and patient records, Finance coordination, and supporting daily clinic operations. The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a patient-focused attitude.
 

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Receive and process patient payments accurately and issue receipts in accordance with AUIS financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of all financial transactions, including cash and other payment methods.
  • Prepare daily financial summaries, ensuring all transactions are accurately documented.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department regarding deposits, reconciliations, invoices, financial documentation, and other accounting related matters.
  • Maintain and organize patient records in both electronic and paper formats while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining organized financial records for audit and administrative purposes.
  • Safeguard cash and other financial assets while maintaining strict confidentiality and accountability.
  • Support the main desk with patient registration, appointment scheduling, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Clinic Manager, Receptionist, dentists, and other clinic staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Perform other financial and administrative duties as assigned.
     

Required Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate exhibits the following characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or an administrative role (experience in a healthcare or dental setting is an advantage).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook); experience with accounting or clinic management software is an advantage.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash transactions, maintain financial records, and prepare daily financial reports.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and customer-oriented approach.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism when handling patient information.
  • Fluency in English and Kurdish (Arabic is an asset).
