The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is proud to announce that Dr. Shwan Jamal Azeez, Adjunct Professor, has published a new scholarly article in the highly regarded journal Ethnopolitics, published by Taylor & Francis.
The article, entitled “Strategic Resource Utilisation in De Facto States: Rojava’s Journey Towards Sovereignty” (2025, pp. 1–21), offers an in-depth examination of how Rojava leverages its natural resources to strengthen political and economic autonomy.
Ethnopolitics is ranked Q1 in the Scopus database and holds an impact factor of 1.2, underscoring the significance of this contribution to the field.
