AUIS Hosts Third Annual University Day with Over 3000 Visitors

 

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) held its third annual University Day, a vibrant event that drew more than 3000 visitors to the AUIS campus. The day-long celebration offered a comprehensive glimpse into the university’s dynamic community, highlighting student capstone projects, clubs, research centers, and alumni businesses.

The festivities commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by University President Dr. Bruce Walker Ferguson. Joining him were distinguished guests, including Sulaimani Governor Dr. Haval Abubakr, as well as presidents from various universities and representatives from government offices and directories. The ceremony set a celebratory tone as students dressed in traditional costumes warmly welcomed attendees.

Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to interact with students and faculty from all academic departments and majors. The displays included an impressive array of senior and faculty research projects, offering insights into the innovative work being conducted at AUIS. Prospective students and their families received detailed information about the academic programs available at the university.
