AUIS Hosts 13th Annual Career Fair, Connecting Students and Alumni with Over 40 Leading Employers

May 14–16, 2025 | Sulaimani, Iraq — The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) successfully hosted its 13th annual Career Fair from May 14 to 16, bringing together over 40 national and international companies with AUIS students and alumni for three days of networking, recruitment, and professional development.

This year’s fair showcased the university’s continued commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment, providing students and graduates with access to internships, job opportunities, and direct engagement with employers from a range of sectors including finance, technology, media, construction, education, telecommunications, NGOs, and more.

Representatives from multinational companies, local businesses, and NGOs were present to meet with AUIS talent, many of whom are fluent in English and trained in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving — hallmarks of the university’s liberal arts education model.

“The AUIS Career Fair is more than just a job fair,” said [Insert Name], Director of Career Services at AUIS. “It’s a platform for companies to discover a new generation of well-educated, driven professionals, and for our students and alumni to explore real-world career paths and build lasting professional relationships.”

Throughout the fair, alumni and employers engaged in one-on-one conversations, company presentations, and on-the-spot interviews. This dynamic environment allowed both sides to explore mutual opportunities and exchange ideas. Employers expressed appreciation for the preparedness and professionalism of AUIS graduates, while alumni highlighted the event as a valuable step toward securing meaningful employment and expanding their professional networks.

For many companies, the fair also offered a strategic chance to tap into the AUIS talent pool — one that is recognized across Iraq and the region for its academic rigor, practical training, and global perspective.

The Career Fair remains a cornerstone of AUIS’s mission to foster career readiness and connect the university community with key industry players. As the university continues to grow its partnerships with the private and public sectors, events like these play a critical role in supporting the economic and social development of the region.
