At the recent MERI Forum, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and AUIS President Dr. Bilal Wahab engaged in a crucial discussion, highlighting the role of education in advancing regional stability and success. Speaking at the high-profile gathering hosted by the Middle East Research Institute (MERI), Barzani emphasized, “Education is the key to a nation’s success.” This statement reflects the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to fostering progress through knowledge, despite the political and economic challenges faced by the region. 

Their panel, titled "The Kurdistan Region of Iraq in a Turbulent Neighborhood: Visions & Directions," addressed the pressing need for a regional strategy amidst a complex and often unstable Middle Eastern landscape. The conversation highlighted the Kurdistan Region's strategic approach to navigating geopolitical tensions, prioritizing education, and strengthening partnerships within Iraq and with international allies.
