AUIS Engineering Students Showcase Innovative Research at International Nanotechnology Conference
AUIS Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering students had the esteemed privilege of participating in the Fourth International Conference on Nanotechnology and its Applications. Held in Baghdad from February 19th to 20th, 2024, this conference provided a platform for engineers to present their research and insights in the field of nanotechnology.
Two groups of engineering students from AUIS seized the opportunity to showcase their research papers, demonstrating the university's dedication to cutting-edge advancements in engineering. Fahad Faris Rasheed, Dyari Omed Abubakr, and Ghada Qasim Shakir presented their comprehensive overview on the "Impact of Nanomaterials in Oil Well Completion: A Comprehensive Overview." Their research delved into the transformative potential of nanomaterials in optimizing oil well completion processes, offering a multifaceted exploration of this critical aspect of the energy industry.
Additionally, Omniyah Samier, a talented AUIS civil engineering student, presented her literature review research paper titled "The Possibility of Using Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) as a Top Electrode Layer for Semi-transparent Solar Cells (SSCs)." Her research investigated the feasibility of utilizing carbon nanotubes as a top electrode layer in organic and perovskite semi-transparent solar cells, shedding light on innovative approaches to sustainable energy production.
The conference spanned two consecutive days, marked by insightful discussions and presentations from esteemed speakers. On the first day, attendees had the privilege of hearing speeches from notable figures such as the Minister of Industry and a group of distinguished researchers. The subsequent day witnessed the participation of AUIS students, who showcased their research findings and engaged in fruitful discussions with fellow scholars and industry professionals.
