Kashkul is hiring a Social Media Assistant to support the creation and management of digital content. The assistant will report to the Digital Presence and Events Strategist and assist in promoting Kashkul’s events and extending their reach through posts and recorded media.


Responsibilities & duties:

  • Assist with photographing, filming, and audio recording events for archival and promotional purposes. 
  • Help create engaging and culturally relevant content for Kashkul’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, and others as needed). 
  • Coordinate with the events team to ensure timely and accurate promotion of Kashkul’s events, exhibitions, concerts, and workshops. 
  • Stay informed about ongoing projects at Kashkul to assist with design planning, audience engagement, and proposing fresh ideas for digital storytelling. 
  • Develop stories, reels, and highlight covers that reflect the tone of each event. 
  • Monitor comments, direct messages, and audience interactions; respond or flag messages as appropriate. 
  • Generate content, select relevant hashtags, and schedule posts in alignment with the events calendar and ongoing initiatives. 
  • Maintain organized records and ensure all generated media is properly archived and regularly backed up on external hard drives. 


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube and X. 
  • Basic photography and videography skills, including experience using a DSLR or smartphone camera for high-quality content capture. 
  • Proficiency in content creation tools with Adobe apps. 
  • Strong sense of visual design and storytelling. 
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to the fast-paced nature of event coverage and content scheduling. 
  • Time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and maintain well-structured media archives. 
  • Interest in arts, culture, and community engagement, with a sensitivity to the tone and values of Kashkul’s programming. 
  • Flexibility in working hours, including availability during evenings or weekends when events take place. 
  • Collaborative mindset, with openness to feedback and team discussions around content and branding.
