The Department of Computing and Informatics at AUIS invites applications for the position of Lab Assistant.
The IT Lab Assistant supports the technical and administrative needs of the Computing and Informatics Department, collaborating closely with IT Services staff and faculty to ensure the optimal use of computing and research facilities. The position reports directly to the Chair of the Department.
The successful candidate should possess a solid foundation in IT fundamentals, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to support both instructional and research activities within the department.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update hardware and software in computing and research labs, including performing regular maintenance.
  • Demonstrate lab facilities to prospective students and visitors to support recruitment and program promotion.
  • Assist Computing and Informatics faculty and students in preparing labs for practical sessions when standard classrooms are not suitable.
  • Support the Computing and Informatics daily operations under the supervision of the managing professor.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for accreditation purposes and provide reports to the department chair as requested.
  • Attend departmental meetings, record minutes, and follow up on departmental initiatives and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair to support the goals of the computing research labs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • At least one year of combined laboratory or field experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to support students in achieving academic, professional, and personal success.
