The AUIS-College of Dentistry offers undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor’s degree in dental surgery. The curricula are supported by state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, clinics and facilities, by experienced and student-focused faculty, and by strong links with the community.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Dentistry Faculty and Clinic Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of the dental clinic’s daily operations while actively contributing to the academic mission of the College of Dentistry. This includes teaching, mentoring students, engaging in scholarly activities, and supporting academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Clinic Management & Operations
- Oversee daily clinic operations, coordinate schedules for faculty, staff, and students, and manage patient appointments and resource allocation to ensure efficient workflows.
- Implement and enforce clinic policies, procedures, and protocols in adherence to local and international healthcare regulations, safety standards (e.g., OSHA), and accreditation requirements. Monitor quality of care and address patient concerns and feedback.
- Train, supervise, and develop clinical and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Manage the clinic’s budget, monitor expenses, oversee billing and insurance processes, and ensure appropriate procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Oversee the use of dental technologies, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, digital imaging tools, and CAD/CAM systems, ensuring data security and operational efficiency.
II. Faculty & Academic Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lectures, course materials, and assessments in accordance with the academic curriculum.
- Supervise students in clinical and practical settings, providing guidance, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and program assessment.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities as required by rank, including conducting studies, publishing academic work, and presenting at conferences.
- Maintain continuous professional development through participation in professional organizations, workshops, and ongoing education.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree closely related field from a recognized institution (PhD preferred).
- At least three years of professional experience in the healthcare or higher education sectors.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to student learning and academic integrity.
- Experience in curriculum design, course development, and interdisciplinary academic collaboration.
- Ability to integrate contemporary research and industry trends into assessment and academic planning.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- A pedagogy or teaching certificate from a recognized institution.
- Experience with accreditation standards and university ranking processes.
