The Adjunct Faculty member in Organic Chemistry is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The role places strong emphasis on teaching, student support, assessment, and academic rigor. The successful candidate will teach courses assigned by the Department Chair or other academic leadership and demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to engage students with complex scientific material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses as scheduled and assume primary responsibility for course delivery and curriculum oversight in accordance with departmental policies.
- Ensure academic rigor and high standards of instruction across all assigned courses.
- Address diverse student learning needs by implementing appropriate instructional strategies.
- Identify students requiring academic or other support and refer them to appropriate university resources.
- Effectively integrate technology aligned with course objectives and clearly communicate expectations for its use.
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records in compliance with departmental policies.
- Record attendance, evaluate student performance, and submit grades in a timely manner according to university regulations.
- Provide ongoing feedback to students regarding academic progress throughout the semester.
- Develop, distribute, and maintain accurate course syllabi that meet departmental, college, and university requirements.
- Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the established schedule.
- Apply appropriate assessment methods to measure student achievement of course learning outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, coordination with Lead Instructors, and professional development activities as required.
Job Qualifications :
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited academic institution in the disciplines of Organic Chemistry.
- Experience in the procedures of a teaching/learning laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to student learning and academic integrity.
- Experience in curriculum design, course development, and interdisciplinary academic collaboration.
- Ability to integrate contemporary research and industry trends into assessment and academic planning.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- A pedagogy or teaching certificate from a recognized institution.
- Experience with accreditation standards and university ranking processes.
