The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) welcomed faculty members and students from the University of Tikrit's College of Language and Arts for a specialized Intensive English Language Training program running from January 26-30, 2025. The five-day program focused on enhancing participants' professional communication abilities in both spoken and written English.

Designed and implemented by AUIS's Academic Preparatory Program (APP), the training aligned academic skill development with professional English language competencies. The curriculum emphasizes practical communication strategies that participants can apply across various professional settings, including academic environments.

The program was led by APP Director Ms. Zimkitha Mpatheni and APP Senior Lecturer Ms. Wided Ben Tekaya, leveraging their expertise in English language instruction and academic preparation. Through this initiative, AUIS continues to strengthen its partnerships with Iraqi universities while contributing to the development of higher education capabilities in the region.
