Dr. Mohammed Nawzad Sabir, Interim Dean of the AUIS College of Pharmacy, had the pleasure of being interviewed by Channel 8 for their Health Program. The interview focused on the topic of "Assessing Herbal Products for Disease Management." During the discussion, Dr. Sabir highlighted the misuse of herbal products among individuals, emphasizing the potential health risks associated with the biochemical compounds found in these herbs. These risks manifest in various forms, including inter- and intramolecular interactions, drug-herb interactions, and food-drug interactions. This review aims to compare pharmaceutical and herbal products, their usage, and the potential risks they pose. Such an overview contributes to improved utilization and positive health impacts on individuals.
