The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for designing and executing programs that foster student involvement, community building, and leadership development at AUIS. This role oversees student clubs, volunteer programs, and major campus events, while also supporting administrative tasks and policy updates within the Student Services office. The Coordinator manages social media outreach, develops feedback tools to measure student satisfaction, and pilots new initiatives to enhance student engagement. Working closely with the Dean of Students and Career Services, the role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for improving the student experience.
Responsibilities & duties:
- Design and Execute Community Events: Develop, plan, and implement engaging events that foster community involvement and student engagement throughout Fall and Spring Semesters.
- Manage Volunteer Programs: Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management, ensuring successful participation in university and community activities. Also, develop volunteer activities to enhance student skills and engagement.
- Oversee Student Clubs: Support and manage student clubs, ensuring their activities align with university goals, policies, and student interests.
- Provide Administrative Support: Schedule meetings, create agendas, take notes, and assist with office-related tasks for the Student Services office.
- Manage Social Media: Handle and update Student Services' social media platforms, promoting events, initiatives, and student engagement opportunities.
- Organize Student Participation in Special Events: Lead student involvement in special events, such as the Zanin Zon Trivia Program, by recruiting and training participants, and overseeing the successful execution of the event.
- Support Policy Updates: Assist in reviewing and updating student policies to ensure they reflectcurrent needs and best practices.
- Coordinate Major Student Events: Plan, organize, and execute key events such as the AUIS Awards ceremony, and Welcome Back on Campus events.
- Engage Students in University Events: Actively engage and promote student participation inuniversity events.
- Design program feedback tools (surveys, focus groups, data tracking) to measure student satisfaction and engagement.
Required Qualifications:
- AUIS Alumni
- Strong enthusiasm and passion for youth engagement and improving campus experiences
- Friendly and positive attitude with effective communication skills
- Highly organized individual who can priorities tasks.
- Experience with event organization and management is strongly preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken English; native or native-like command of either Kurdish or Arabic (applicants with fluency in both local languages strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive) is required, technical skills in Canva, video editing and other creative tools is preferred.
