The IT Office Manager oversees the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the efficient management of IT services, support, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for supervising IT staff, maintaining technology systems, and providing reliable IT support to faculty, staff, and students. The IT Office Manager ensures that all IT operations align with AUIS’s needs while maintaining security, efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

IT Operations & Support:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Supervise and support IT staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering professional development.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for university employees and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure timely maintenance, upgrades, and security updates for IT systems and infrastructure.


Network & Systems Management:

  • Maintain and oversee AUIS’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud services.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of the university’s IT systems.
  • Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Manage IT inventory, including hardware, software, and licensing compliance.

 

IT Administration & Budgeting:

  • Assist in developing and managing the IT department budget, monitoring expenditures, and cost optimization.
  • Work with vendors for IT procurement, licensing agreements, and service contracts.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with institutional requirements.

 

User Training & Client Relations:

  • Provide IT training and support sessions to faculty, staff, and students to enhance IT literacy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues and solutions within the university.
  • Collaborate with university departments to assess IT needs and recommend improvements.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support and management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Hands-on experience with network administration, IT infrastructure, security protocols, and user support.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software troubleshooting, cloud computing, and IT security best practices.
  • Experience in an academic or higher education environment is a plus.
