The Night Watch ensures a safe and secure environment in the female dormitory during overnight hours. This role requires vigilance, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies. The Night Watch will serve as a trusted presence for residents, promoting a culture of safety and compliance with dormitory policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Monitoring:
  • Provide a secure presence in the dormitory during nighttime hours.
  • Conduct regular rounds of the facility to monitor for unauthorized individuals and ensure compliance with dormitory policies.
 
2. Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent situations, including providing transportation to a hospital if necessary.
  • Exercise decisive leadership during crisis situations and manage any incidents effectively.
 
3. Building Security:
  • Close and secure the main entrance of the female dormitory at curfew and monitor access.
  • Report any security breaches or suspicious activities to the Facilities Management Department.
 
4. Reporting:
  • Submit daily written reports detailing incidents, curfew violations, and any significant occurrences during the shift.
  • Maintain clear communication with the supervisor regarding any concerns or issues.
 
5. Resident Support:
  • Foster positive and respectful relationships with dorm residents, promoting a sense of community and well-being.
  • Remind residents of their responsibilities regarding safety, including smoking and alcohol policies.
 
6. Policy Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to archdiocesan policies and procedures, supporting a respectful and compliant living environment.
  • Participate in regular safety drills, including fire, earthquake preparedness, and lockdown procedures.
 
7. Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by appropriate university authorities to enhance dormitory operations and resident support.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a trustworthy individual committed to student safety and well-being.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Previous experience in resident life, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with students.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and crisis management.
  • Good communication skills in Kurdish Arabic and English.
