Silvia Pirrioni

Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration

Dr. Silvia received her bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Public Relations at the University of Udine in Italy in 2006. She then worked as a travel consultant for a British company for several years. In 2013, she received a master's degree in Human Resource Management and Development with Distinction from the University of Manchester. In 2014, she was awarded a full scholarship to study a Ph.D. at Nottingham Trent University. Her research investigated apprentices’ professional development in the engineering sector in England. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Silvia worked as lecturer in Management at Nottingham Business School. In 2019, she delivered the HR module of the MBA program at AUIS as a visiting professor. She joined AUIS as an Adjunct Professor in 2020, teaching Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. Dr. Silvia has worked as an HR consultant in the private sector in Sulaimani and is a research member of the Centre of People, Work and Organizational Practice (CPWOP) at Nottingham Business School. In the summer of 2020, she worked with the CPWOP on a project exploring psychological wellbeing and safety in a global context.

Dr. Silvia's research interests include employee development, human resource management, and mental health in the workplace. She is now looking to further her research on HRM in the local region.
