Math and Science Center Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

The AUIS Math & Science Center (MSC) Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Chair of the Math and Natural Sciences Department in the daily and long-term operation and administration duties of both the MNS department and the Center. These duties include:

• Recruiting, training, managing, and evaluating the math and science student tutors.
• Scheduling tutoring activities and allocating tutors.
• Collecting and reporting data on student attendance and learning outcomes.
• Maintaining an appropriate environment for student learning in the MSC.
• Serving as a liaison between the MSC, the MNS Department Chair, and the Student Services Office.
• Providing tutoring in math and science courses.
• Teaching recitation classes for Pre-calculus, Calculus I, II, and III.
• Communicating with the AUIS community about MSC events or changes in service schedules.
• Participating in and supporting departmental activities such as competitions and University Day.
• Supporting the department with proctoring during both midterm and final exams. 

Qualifications and Skills:

• A BSc or preferably an MSc at the time of appointment in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
• At least one year of combined experience in teaching or tutoring students or apprentices.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Priority will be given to candidates with experience in working with and mentoring students or apprentices.
