The Academic Preparatory Program of the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani is accepting applications for the position of Student Records Coordinator for the 2024-2025 academic year, which will begin September 1, 2024. The preparatory program is an intensive program that prepares entry-level university students with academic English, critical thinking, and study skills. Program levels range from beginner to upper intermediate and class materials and assessments are designed to address students’ needs.

Job Description

The APP Student Records Coordinator plays a vital role in managing comprehensive student data across all AUIS academic systems. This dynamic position is key to departmental success, overseeing class schedules, delivering captivating student orientations, and spearheading tutoring and engagement programs that enhance student services and satisfaction. Most importantly, the Student Records Coordinator ensures a seamless transition for students moving from APP to the Undergraduate
program. The APP Student Records Coordinator provides essential support, helping students adapt and thrive in their new academic environment. This position is instrumental in shaping positive student experiences and fostering academic success.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage comprehensive student data and records in SONIS, including grades, schedules, and statuses
  • Provide daily student support, addressing questions and resolving SONIS-related issues
  • Organize and assist with key APP events, including orientations, graduations, and specialized programs
  • Oversee APP course registration, manage Moodle accounts, and track attendance
  • Coordinate language support, including translations and multilingual communication with students
  • Manage and analyze data, including creating reports, collecting survey data, and maintaining APP Main Trends
  • Support faculty and run academic support services like the Speaking and Listening center
  • Administer special initiatives such as the APP internship program, Access Program, and at-risk student tracking

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field from an Iraqi accredited institution.
  • At least 1 year experience in administrative support, especially in educational settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Kurdish, and Arabic. (This will be assessed during the interview)
  • Excellent proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and database management systems.  Experience with Learning Management System is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent attention to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and data management skills 
  • Dedicate 40 hours per week ( Sundays- Thursdays from 08:30- 5:00) 
  • Expect some duties may require additional work hours
  • An Iraqi citizen based in Sulaimaniyah- Kurdistan Regional Governate
