Profile

Wizhdan received her Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics from the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy, in 2024, and earned her B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Sulaimani in 2023, where she graduated first in her department. She previously served as a teaching assistant, gaining experience in supporting students in their academic development. She is also an active member of the Kurdish Mathematical Society, where she contributes to seminars, outreach activities, and translation projects to promote mathematics in her community. 

Her passion for mathematics began in high school, where she prepared for international competitions. In 2018, she became the first woman from Iraq to qualify for the official national team and represent the country at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Romania. Her academic interests center on pure mathematics, especially abstract algebra, number theory, and representation theory. She is dedicated to advancing mathematics education in the region and inspiring future generations to explore the beauty of the subject.
