The Institute of Regional and International Studies (IRIS) is partnering with the Johns Hopkins University and launches a new research project. This case study aims to improve the prediction of climate change and conflict-related displacement in the northern central region of Iraq and explore and document strategies to enhance health system preparedness and sustainability in expanding urban areas.
The project aims to answer following research questions:
- How is climate change affecting population’s health and displacement patterns in northern central region of Iraq? How is climate change impacting conflict dynamics?
- How can health facilities better prepare for changing health needs in both departing and arrival areas, whilst remaining sensitive to conflict dynamics?
