On March 2, 2022, a team from IRIS and AUIS student interns went on a day-long learning trip to Erbil and met with representatives from the UNHCR Iraq, the UK Consulate Erbil, and Peace Paradigms. The meetings were organized to to discuss the challenges of civilian protection in Iraq, especially in the post-ISIS and disputed territories. The trip was part of the Research Capacity Building Internship supported by the AHRC-FCDO Collaborative Humanitarian Protection Research Programme and co-implemented by the GPPi.
