" Kübra Dilekoğlu
About
Kübra Dilekoǧlu is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at the University of St Andrews, United Kingdom, writing on political economy, global governance, and Gulf politics, with a focus on Saudi Arabia. Her PhD thesis examines the role of Western management consultancies in Saudi Arabia's modernisation and development since the early 1930s through the modernity/coloniality lens, drawing on fieldwork conducted in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and online, as well as archival material.
Her archival research was funded by the Rockefeller Archive Center in New York. Kübra holds a BA in Political Science and Economics and an MA in Global Politics, both from the University of Göttingen, Germany. Her academic training was complemented by several years of research experience in political economy before she joined one of the leading consultancy firms, where she worked as a Senior Consultant in the government sector.
During her time there, she worked for several German ministries and the European Commission, producing evaluations, impact assessments, and policy reports based on qualitative and quantitative methods. Having worked within the consultancy industry before, Kübra brings a combination of professional insight and scholarly rigour to her research.
