GIZ Delegation Visits AUIS to Strengthen Partnerships and Advance Entrepreneurship in Iraq

To strengthen the long-standing partnership between the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), a delegation from GIZ visited the University and engaged with faculty and staff members. The meeting focused on exploring ways to support and enhance Iraq's entrepreneurial ecosystem, building on both past achievements and future opportunities.

AUIS Successfully Launches Annual English Teacher Training Program

On November 28th, the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), successfully held its annual English Teacher Training Program, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to advancing education across the Kurdistan Region. For the first time, the program was launched simultaneously in Sulaimani at the AUIS campus and in Erbil at the Ishik Brayati School, broadening its impact and accessibility.

On November 26, 2024, the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), in collaboration with Club Alpbach Iraq, proudly hosted HerNetwork, an inspiring Women’s Networking Event. This gathering brought together AUIS female students and accomplished women leaders from esteemed organizations such as Mercy Corps, Lafarge, Green Dream, and Sunlit Strategies. The event aimed to foster meaningful networking and conversations on leadership and overcoming workplace challenges.

Attendees had the chance to learn about the diverse opportunities available, from scholarships to extracurricular activities, and how an AUIS education prepares students for global success. 

Empowering Innovation: Pitch Your Business Idea at AUIS

As part of AUIS Entrepreneurship Week, the "Pitch Your Business Idea!" event on November 19, 2024, brought together creative minds and entrepreneurial energy. Organized in collaboration with Takween Accelerator, Nishman Strategy Institute, and AUIS Student Services, the event encouraged students to develop innovative business ideas and pitch them to a panel of judges. 
The competition awarded prizes to the top teams, with first place receiving $400, second place $300, and third place $200.

From November 28 to December 8, 2024, the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) proudly participated in the 11-day Sulaimani Book Fair, showcasing the university's academic excellence, publishings, and vibrant community.

On November 24, 2024, The AUIS Medical & Health Sciences department, in collaboration with the Media Medical Complex, hosted a highly impactful Basic Life Support (BLS) training session. The training was offered free of charge to AUIS students, staff, and faculty members, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering a safer campus environment by equipping its community with essential life-saving skills.
