Dr. Mohammed Nawzad Sabir, Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), recently participated in the 8th Regional Pharmacy Faculty Development Workshop held on January 10 and 11, 2025, in Dubai, UAE. Hosted by the Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls, this annual academic event is organized under the auspices of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), USA, and targets Middle East pharmacy programs seeking accreditation.

Fostering Leadership Through Adventure: AUIS APP Hike to Hawraman

Inspired by the American educational model, students at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) actively participate in enriching activities like hiking, intellectual games, and environmental conservation. As part of this mission, the AUIS Academic Preparatory Program (APP) recently organized a hike to the stunning Hawraman region. The trip was designed to introduce students, particularly those from outside Sulaimani, to the area’s breathtaking landscapes and cultural richness.

In a remarkable effort to address the enduring impact of the Yazidi genocide, the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) hosted a pivotal panel discussion in collaboration with Yazda, the U.S. Department of State, Nobody’s Listening, and Up Stream. 


The event, titled "A Decade Later: Transitional Justice as a Framework to Address the Yazidi Genocide and Prevent Further Atrocities," brought together leading researchers, activists, and experts to reflect on the genocide’s aftermath and explore pathways to justice and accountability.
