Mera Bakr

About

Mera Bakr is a Non-Resident Fellow at IRIS, where he primarily focuses on youth dissatisfaction, political dynamics and security issues in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Previously, as a Non-Resident Fellow at the German Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), he published numerous policy reports on elections, migration crisis and security sector reform in the KRI. In addition to consulting and briefing on security, energy, and domestic politics developments, he has, likewise, worked on other projects, including federal elections in his hometown, Kirkuk, as well as State and International Non-Governmental Organizations in the KRI. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s of science in Politics, Economics and Philosophy at the University of Hamburg, Germany.
