On December 4th, 2025, the IRIS team participated in a regional conference organized by the Arab Reform Initiative in Beirut, Lebanon, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and civil society representatives to discuss the challenges and opportunities of achieving a just energy transition in oil-producing countries across the region. The event also marked the launch of the report Redefining the Just Energy Transition for Iraq. Representing IRIS, Director Mac Skelton and Research Fellow Shayan Kamil presented the report’s key findings and shared insights from Iraq during the discussions on energy transition.
