Sangar Salih is a non-resident research fellow at IRIS, contributing to the Iraq Economic Review with a focus on the local economy in Erbil province. Sangar holds a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati, USA, and currently lectures in the Social Work Department at Salahaddin University-Erbil. He has worked as a researcher and consultant with international organizations, research centers, and universities, including the Economic Policy Research Institute (EPRI), the International Labor Organization (ILO), and the University of Exeter, where he contributed to the "Transformative History Education" project. Sangar has published his work in national and international peer-reviewed journals, focusing on workers' rights, migration, violent extremism, social integration, minorities, and Iraqi civil society organizations (CSOs). He has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences. Additionally, he served as the Executive Director and, more recently, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO).
