The Center for Gender and Development Studies at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, hosts a series of activities under the name "Gender and..." Each month a different topic relating to gender is discussed.
A primary objective of this activity is to promote creative ideas and provide support for existing projects that serve to advance gender equality and women's empowerment.
Gender & Artistic Expression was the second topic of the month. CGDS was thrilled to host three contemporary Kurdish women, Avan Sdiq, Rozhgar Mustafa, and Niga Salam, to share their artistic perspectives on gender in relation to their artistic expression who also participated and showed their art projects in a show under the name of 52 artists.
