On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, CGDS director Dr. Choman Hardi facilitated a training workshop for the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA-Kurdistan). The workshop was titled Gender, Patriarchy, and the Masculine Value system. It was organized by IFMSA's Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP). Twenty four students from different provinces benefitted from the training. This is an output of the Masculinity, Violence, and Prevention research project in the Gender, Justice and Security Hub, funded by UK Research and Innovation's Global Challenges Research Fund.
Image description: There are two photos. In one, we see two rows of people. The back row consists of ten people, all standing. Of the five men and five women; two people wear masks. The front row consists of eight people, all kneeling. Of the five women and three men; four people wear masks. A round clock on the wall reads 5:20. In the other photo, we see, from the back, a semicircle of about fifteen seated people. They are all looking at the speaker in the front of the room, who is a woman wearing a red jacket. On a large screen beside her we see the words, in yellow against a purple background, Gender, Patriarchy, and the Masculine Value System.
