Pen International’s Women Writers Committee sponsored “Empowering Women’s Voices” at the 2021 Pen International Annual meeting. The Writers in Exile panel, on March 21, 2021, featured three speakers, including Dr. Choman, CGDS Founder and Director. The panelists spoke about living a “double life,” advocacy, and the role of literature. Iranian author Maria Saba and Stella Nyanzi, from Uganda, also spoke. The panel, attended by over 80 Pen registrants, was moderated by Slovenian writer Tanja Tuma.
