One of CGDS’s areas of emphasis is academic scholarship, in which we are very active. Our scholarship focuses on women and other marginalized groups and always intends to increase awareness and contribute to systemic change. We are pleased to be institutional members of the Society for Applied Anthropology, a scholarly organization that works to improve global systems. The SfAA’s purpose, as it appears on their website, is as follows: “SfAA was founded in 1941 to promote the investigation of the principles of human behavior and the application of these principles to contemporary issues and problems. The Society is unique among professional associations in membership and purpose – and in representing the interests of professionals in a wide range of settings including academia, business, law, public health, medicine, environment, and government. The unifying factor is a commitment to making an impact on the quality of life in the world.” We became members of SfAA in October 2020.
