CGDS Congratulates Dr. Hawar Jamal Ameen

CGDS is pleased to announce that Dr. Hawar Jamal Ameen has successfully defended his PhD dissertation work, thus completing his terminal degree in Middle Eastern Politics. Dr. Hawar began his studies in 2014, entering the University of Exeter (UK) in 2018. His thesis title is  “The Influence of Place, Space and Socialising Agents on Identity in Iraqi Kurdistan: A Study of Kurdish Youth Aged 18-25.” His Master's degree in Comparative Political Economy is from Cardiff University, where he researched the impact on agriculture in Kurdistan of the Oil for Food Program. Dr. Hawar joined CGDS in July of  2019 to carry out research in the scholarship of masculinities, and has recently accepted the position of CGDS’s Project Manager in our partnership with UNFPA. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Hawar.
