On February 4th, 2020 CGDS Director Dr. Choman Hardi and Administrative Assistant Sewe Anwar meet Dr. Mhabad Kamil, current in-term President of the University of Halabja. Also present in the meeting were Dr. Hataw Hamasalih, Director of Center for Gender Equality at Halabja University, Ms. Gulstan Ahmad, Director of Human Rights Office in Halabja, and Ms. Kurda Bapir, Social Worker at Shahid Abdulrahman Secondary School. The purpose of the meeting was to officially congratulate Dr. Mahabad on being the first female to be the president of a university in the region. Also discussed in the meeting was the importance of providing support and encouragement to women for advancing gender equality, as CGDS is now doing, with funding from the EU.
