Ms. Goshan Karadaghi, Lecturer at AUIS and CGDS veteran, participated in the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations-Kurdistan’s (IFMSA-Kurdistan) three-day workshop as a trainer. The workshop was held in Duhok from the 27th to the 30th of August, 2019,Ms. Goshan gave a series of three different presentations to medical students: Gendered Differences in Mental Health, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) In Health Settings, and Women’s Health Importance. The presentations were designed to present the students with ideas, facts, and statistics that emphasize the role of gender in the medical sector and to collaborate on identifying prominent issues and designing potential solutions. The workshops provided a space for the medical students to express their ideas and to discuss shortcomings and obstacles in the medical community. Each session began with a lecture by Ms. Goshan, followed by discussions and activities. The number of participants per session ranged from 20 to 60. IFMSA-Kurdistan is a member of the IFMSA family, one of the world's oldest and largest student-run organizations for medical students across the globe. In addition to hosting the workshops, the IFMSA also held its annual National Assembly.
