The fourth and final day of the CGDS workshop “Introduction to Social Justice,” offered by the Center for Gender and Development Studies with support from an EU grant on gender education in the MENA region, took place on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019. The main activity of this last day was training in PSEA (Protection Against Exploitation and Abuse), conducted by Mr. Rasti Ranj, the CGDS Hub Manager for our project with the London School of Economics. The workshop concluded, after collecting feedback, with the awarding of certificates to all 32 NGO workers, who came from Baghdad and other parts of southern Iraq. CGDS thanks the Titanic Hotel in Sulaimani, where the workshop, which began on September 14th, took place. We also give our sincere thanks to Mr. Jamil Ali, translator extraordinaire. The logistics of the workshop were coordinated by CGDS MENA Community Liaison Mr. Miran Fattah, assisted by EU Project Manager Mr. Shko Shwan and Mr. Ali Hussein Abo-Jadya, CGDS Research Assistant. Dr. Lynn Rose, Deputy Director of CGDS, and Mr. Ramyar Ismael and Mr. Hawar Jamal, CGDS research assistants for the LSE project on masculinities, also attended.
